Cool Beans – a bit of a series update
How do you take your coffee?
Seriously. Very Seriously.
I spotted a conversation between stitchers on social media the other day. These awesome stitchers were comparing notes about the series ‘Cool Beans’ & the large border design that you can use to stitch all 9 designs in the series as one.
The discussion was about the ‘counting chore’ (my words) – of centering each design in said square. This got me thinking…just how did I arrange the border?? (after all, this series debuted in 2017 – can I remember that far back?
Well, it turns out that while each open square space in the large border chart is the same size, the individual designs are not. That’s on me. I have often said…I learn as I go – the important thing IS to learn & put into practice what I learn! (Several of the designs vary by a stitch or 2)
So, what I did was to update the complimentary border. I included a ‘square’ that measures 65 x 65, the stitch count of 3 of the charts in the series. I hope that this will help give you a visual as you fill the large border chart. I suggest that you make note of the stitch counts that I have listed on each of the charts & mark on your border chart where you need to make an adjustment (ie. one of the charts is 64 x 64 – you will need to decide which side margin you want to make 1 row wider – in the grand scheme of things, you will not notice the difference.
Additionally, you can also run a basting thread on the horizontal & vertical centering lines marked on the master chart – this will give you the center point for each block!
Have fun with the Cool Beans series – btw, I love seeing conversations like the one between the stitchers. I want to help make your stitching experience fun!
Cool Beans charts are available through your favorite needlework shop – Hard copy & PDF’s are available here on this website! The 9 titles in the series are: Rise & Grind, Go Your Own Way, 7AM Somewhere, A Hug in a Cup, Coffee & Friends, Cuppa’ Cuppa’, Brew It, A Whole Latte Love, My Cups Runneth Over.

I have Cool beans in my “coffee” bag – I am doing a whole section of wall in my kitchen for coffee related pieces. I really do take my coffee seriously. I also say “cool beans” all the time and noticed my (soon to be 2!) grandlittles are saying it!

How about a matching set for TEa? tea types, teacups, teapot, etc. Ours is a divided household. I drink the tea and he does the coffee.
