WEAR LOVE

January 31, 2022 By Cathy Habermann 23 Comments

Wear Love Everywhere You Go – Colossians 3:14

October 2021 – I wasn’t thinking at all about what I would design for my annual Anniversary Token…in fact, it was probably the furthest thing from my mind.

Isn’t there a comedian that does a ‘bit’ using the words…’here’s your sign’?

Well, there it was…

I was visiting one of my favorite shops – Irish Twins Soap Co (Beresford, SD) – with some friends when I spied this one…& on chalkboard no less! With permission from the owner, I snapped a photo to help me remember and avoid one of those ‘I don’t need to write it down’ moments.

This past year, Bill & I have learned to rely on ‘signs’ in everyday life as we navigate jobs, home & family.  I figured that this one could not be ignored. So, as we get ready to celebrate 34 years of marriage in a few days, I offer for you, ‘Wear Love’.

A few photos showing you how I put mine together:

This marks the 10th year that I have offered an Anniversary Token… a complimentary chart to help you celebrate love. Search back through the blogposts that occur in late January and/or early February to download your copy.

Download ‘Wear Love’ here.

Supplies are listed on the chart.

I thank you for your continued enthusiasm of this tradition. I always joke & say that by designing this, I know exactly what I’m getting Bill for our anniversary!! This little ritual has grown in meaning for both of us through the years, starting on that very cold February day in Pittsburgh when we both said I do and chose to ‘Wear Love’.

Enjoy the stitch,

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, cATHY, AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL COMPLIMENTARY CHART! I don’t have a Mr HOd, myself, and have always shied away from love themed everything. Not that I didn’t like it, but it never seemed to fit for me, or was something I was drawn to. But I recently went through a health scare, and that changed my perspective on everything. You don’t have to have romantic love to celebrate the love in your life. I am blessed with two amazing adult children, friends, and family, and so I do have much love to celebrate every day. I am so excited to stitch this beautiful chart! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Love to you and Mr hod!

Love this year’s design! Happy anniversary to you and mr. hod.

I am assuming from the photo that the backstitching in the flowers is done with 3865, however, how many strands did you use? one or two?

Happy Anniversary, Cathy and Mr. HOD! I love all of your anniversary charts, but this year’s design was especially sweet! What a difference it would make in the world if everyone did, in fact, wear love everywhere they go! Every change starts with one small step…

Cheers to many more happy years together!

I’m looking forward to stitching this – this sentiment is needed in the world today. With other pillows you often slit the back to turn right side out. since this backing is quilted, did you slit it to turn or turn though an opening in the seam line? Thanks!

I can’t believe that I finally get to share this s I can’t believe that I finally get to share this special project❤️ - the mystery market release is revealed!

‘I’m New Here’ - not just a baby sampler, we’re calling it a Baby Story - a sweet saying that I was inspired to write not long after we found out that we were going to be grandparents!

The small ornament is perfect for the newly born- I’ve included alternative skin tone palettes for those tiny tootsies as well as an alphabet and numbers for personalization.

Many thanks to @chantelles141 for working behind the scenes with me to create the Baby on Board finishing boards. The DMC palette is also easy to customize.

We did not share any of the design details before market and asked shops to ‘do their thing’ - a great many came home with charts for you!! We thank them for their support!
