September & October are just busy months…it never fails. Even as my kids have become adults, they still keep their Dad & I busy. That’s why it was great to have a little oasis of fun a few weeks ago! St. Charles, MO & Needlework Galleria. I hopped in the car (filled to the brim with models, displays, kits & charts!) & traveled south to KC & hooked a left across MO! Join me on my picture walk…
The big Welcome sign greeted stitchers in the lobby – a popular photo-op spot (it was right by the coffee shop too!)
We had a ‘sweet suite’ – our room was a combo stop of Hands On Design & Summer House Stitche Workes. Our design styles are fairly different, but it was fun to see how our models mixed together!
We had a room filled with models, kits, even some linen, fun gadgets, even a trunk show of Lady Dot hand dyed trims!
This was our ‘special release’ table – cute designs & quick stitch kits just for the show (I have since posted the remaining kits on my website!)
Ornaments hanging on jute strung across the room – we made room to show EVERYTHING!!
Stitchers got a 1st peek at my newest Block Party release – MEND! The models will make their next debut in The Silver Needle booth at Houston Festival.
Beth & I made a #selfiespot on the door to see who would stop by…
We tried it out on ourselves 1st!
Our Italian friends were next!! (Hi ladies!)
Stitchers tried it out too…(they got a little help from their friends!)
This selfie was a HUGE treat for me…I got to meet, in person, Karen from SewMuch2Luv bags. We teamed up a few years ago to bring you chart & tutorial for the bag we are holding. We’ve talked a lot over the years, but all on-line! (hint: she’s just as nice as I thought she would be) – check out her shirt, she said she was going for a run later…with her scissors (groan)
Didn’t I mention we had a ‘sweet suite’? – you could walk through the Hands On & Summer House side straight into [square.ology] & Just Another Button Company…SWEET!
Stitchers got to visit with the Chalk.Squared model (I heard a few swoon) and see Needle Print & Play!
Miss Button will have to try out the #selfiespot another time…shhh…
My students from class – oops, we missed 1 in the picture, they were able to complete their fob in class!! Clap clap ladies!
After hours – it is one of my most favorite times of these events…gathering with friends. We laugh, catch up, eat, joke & usually end up in giggly, happy tears. We are all scattered about the country and busy designing, teaching & everything else that goes with the job…I so look forward to the moments when we can all be in the same room.
Well if you made it this far down the picture walk, I thank you! Fly is a special piece I design for Galleria to go with Valyrian Steel – a terrific shade of gray from my friend Stephanie. Her logo is a dragonfly & when I spotted this charm…I knew I needed to design this on her fabric. I only have a few charts & charms left. It’s available for purchase on my website – under ‘shop’, look for the ‘Hands On-line’ category.
I can’t end without saying a huge thanks to Cathy of Inspired Needle for putting on a 1st class show – she & her helpers worked very hard to make this a terrific show!
I’m home, mostly recovered & getting ready for the next events for both family & Hands On…
Enjoy the stitch,
Cathy

Hi Cathy, thanks for a great summary of the show. We met last year at the salty yarns retreat. how ironic to see BETH seal and Janis note in your pictures. I just got back from this year’s retreat where they were the teachers along with Linda Vinson.
Loved seeing all the pictures!
