A Little Love Note
Two things happened early in January to inspire the 2026 Anniversary Token (the design that I gift to both Bill & stitchers – he gets the pillow – you get the chart).
1st – Bill & I went fabric shopping one Saturday. No, Bill does not usually frequent quilt shops with me but, this was a special trip (more about that another time). When we were done selecting fabrics for that other project, I had him help me with what I called another ‘special’ project. He picked these 3 prints out (I may or may not have had a little influence😉). These 3 prints became the basis for my Anniversary chart color palette. This can be a fun way to create & I highly suggest you try your hand at it with this piece. If you simply must use the fabrics Bill chose, I have those listed on the chart!
2nd – I read the book ‘The Correspondent: A Novel’ by Virginia Evans. The book came highly recommended to me after I shared my 2025 Book List. I was thrilled to see that I already had it up next in my book queue. I don’t want to give anything away but, the book is NOT about someone who writes Love Notes!! It is about someone who develops many relationships through written correspondence. I decided that I wanted to tuck a little hand-written note in the pillow & the whole design theme grew from there!

Oh how I love that little pillow!!!! I just printed it and will start this afternoon, first I need to look for the floss!!!!! Thank you and have a happy anniversary!!!!!! I will try to get the book too, it sounds delightful. I have to tell you I need it this today. Today is the anniversay of my grandmothers death, she is buried in Cuba but have memories of going to her grave every Sunday!!! And my son lost his dearly beloved dog just early this morning, I would like to do a little pillow for our dear Bella. Thank you again

Could you share the piecing instructions for the pillow finish?
Megan- I don’t have specific instructions for this complimentary design. I cut the strips about 2 1/2″ to start & placed them how they were pleasing to me. I trimmed my stitching with the rotary cutter to square up the edges. I sewed each fabric piece on 1 at a time. I went back to the 1st fabric & opened the beginning of the seam so that the last fabric could lay under it. Once that 4th fabric was attached, I sewed the 1st fabric down again.
