Resting Beach Face

This design has been kicking around in my brain for so long, I can’t even remember a time when it wasn’t there!

One day, late on a Friday afternoon, I was hit with an image. I sat down & drew a little sketch. I went straight to the computer & 45 minutes later this sassy little gal came to be! (if only they all happened that fast!)

The very definition of a ‘fun stitch’. That Just Another Button Company Flamingo pin makes it a fun finish too!

This chart is available in both printed chart and PDF/download format. All sales are final. Any embellishments are not available with the PDF format.

Description

Resting Beach Face

Stitch count: 61 x 65

Models stitched on 32ct Vintage Tiffany, Fabrics by Stephanie

DMC: 317, 347, 434, 436, 703, 776, 3774, 3819, 3832, 3848, 3865

Just Another Button Company: Flamingo Solo Pin-Mini jpm 449

Lady Dot Creates: Caribe Rick Rack

I used 3774 for my particular skin tone & 434 for the hair (I had to double check with my hairstylist – only she knows for sure).

Here are some other DMC shades for various skin tones:

3774 – 950 – 3064 – this is my spectrum from fairly pale to garden time tan

3863 – 3772 – 3862 – 838 – this spectrum is my pick for lighter brown to deeper brown skin tones

951 & 948 are my top picks for very pale without looking too peachy

Here are some other DMC shades for various hair tones (light to dark):

Browns: 420 – 434 – 898 – 844

Blondes: 676, 3821, 422

Grey to Black: 415 – 169 – 317

Red: 356 – 355

These are suggestions – email me if you are having trouble getting the right combo for you & I will be happy to help where I can!

‘17th’ - this Block Party series design is still available through your local or online shop as well as my website (the only place for PDF’s).

Stitch as the block pincushion or just the side panel for a stunning piece to display.

Just when I thought my batting average was doing p Just when I thought my batting average was doing pretty well...

Night Light NOTE: Cocoa & Grasshopper have identical symbols in the chart.

The colors (brown & green) are used in distinctly separate areas of the chart & are easily discernible.

My sincere apologies for the charting mishap.

Buttercup IS mentioned 2x in the color key intentionally.

As Bill & I finally hit the road for home, I thoug As Bill & I finally hit the road for home, I thought that I would share a peek around our room at Nashville Needlework Market ❤️

Thank you to the shops that came & continue to support my design work as well as the fabric & thread dyers (& those that cut amazing shapes from wood 😉) that I am fortunate to work alongside.

A big thank you to Yarn Tree for once again hosting Market!

I can’t believe that I finally get to share this s I can’t believe that I finally get to share this special project❤️ - the mystery market release is revealed!

‘I’m New Here’ - not just a baby sampler, we’re calling it a Baby Story - a sweet saying that I was inspired to write not long after we found out that we were going to be grandparents!

The small ornament is perfect for the newly born- I’ve included alternative skin tone palettes for those tiny tootsies as well as an alphabet and numbers for personalization.

Many thanks to @chantelles141 for working behind the scenes with me to create the Baby on Board finishing boards. The DMC palette is also easy to customize.

We did not share any of the design details before market and asked shops to ‘do their thing’ - a great many came home with charts for you!! We thank them for their support!
