Memorial Day

Meet artist Annie Quigley, a self taught artist who seems to paint with her whole heart. This painting was inspired by her young daughters and a back road scene in Lancaster, PA. Read the rest of the story & the reason for my desire to interpret her beautiful artwork into cross-stitch!

How beautiful to see the flags waving…to be viewed from both side of the clothes line.

I enjoyed stitching this model with the Sulky 12 Wt. Cotton Petites™. This design is perfect for the 1-strand stitching. My favorite part was the embellishments on each of the flags…the icing on the cake!

I discovered that I was using a similar palette to my friend Beth of Summer House Stitche Workes. We chose colors together so that you will be able to stitch both ‘Memorial Day’ & Beth’s ’Liberty Hill Farm’ designs with just 1 thread pack!
