It all started out like this:
Hands On Design released a year long ‘To The Beach’ series that debuted at Nashville market last year! Bill & I adopted 3 flamingos and asked them to join us on our Nashville market experience. We had a ball!
They stayed on at our house when we got home from market…after all, we have an empty nest now…(sorry, had to go there)
Enter, Nashville 2017 preparations!
Flamingos recquire a whole lot less water than I realized. They actually like hanging out with the plastic boxes in the inventory room.
I found them sitting around here when I had to break the bad news that they would not be making the trip to Nashville this year.
I thought they took the news rather well…
…but apparently I was wrong. Instead of sulking, they took to partying in our living room. I honestly didn’t even know they could walk up the stairs from the studio!
I guess Wild Kingdom got the best of them…flamingo hangovers all around.
It was either the unseasonably good weather or flamingo hi-jinx…they thought about filling the pool…
…but opted to work on their tans instead (how on earth can you tell if a flamingo is sunburnt?)
Apparently I have to monitor their viewing of the Cooking Channel…they tried out a few recipes. (amazingly, they cleaned up…I couldn’t even tell they were there!)
I guess their cooking wasn’t good after all…they went foraging in the yard (I’m glad they couldn’t open the fridge!)
Bill & I pulled into the garage late Monday night to find the flamingos hatched a plan to not be left behind again! (still wondering how they got the seatbelts fastened?)
NOTE: I want to assure you that no flamingos were harmed in the process of making this blogpost!
MANY THANKS to my friend Lorna who kitty sat & set up all of this fun! I had no idea she was planning to do this until the evidence/pictures started rolling in!!
Here’s a peek at the Hands On Design Nashville 2017 releases! Call your shops to order!
I have been getting MANY emails & requests for this guy (bees…no flamingoes??) Just Bee was a limited edition kit I did in 2014. I will bee re-releasing the chart here soon (I’m working on some extras for it!)
Have a stitch day!
