Block Party – Stretcher Bar Finish
I offered an online tutorial for the Block Party Mattress Finish years ago when I 1st introduced this fun series. (Click here Mattress Finish)
I am constantly looking to try new things & put a new twist on this ongoing series. When I introduced the new round of Blocks based on ‘holidates’ (a date rather than the usual 4-letter word that the 1st 9 Blocks are based on) – I started designing them with the intent that a stitcher could just stitch the ‘side panel only’. I came up with a new finish as well with these easy-to-use stretcher bars.
I finally remembered to snap some pics as I finished this last release for a new tutorial to walk you through the steps! (Click here for Stretcher Bar Finish)
For a quick reference, you will need:
- 2 – 8″ stretcher bars & 2 – 22″ stretcher bars – get the wide kind that have the raised lip at the outside edge.
- craft paint & fam brushes
- mat board
- batting (I like Warm & Natural)
- Double Sided Acid free Stitchery tape (I sell it here on the website if your shop doesn’t have it)
- quilting cotton & skein DMC to coordinate with your stitching
- usual supplies – rotary cutter, scissors, rulers, etc…
Thank you & Enjoy the Finish!
